Review written by Josefin, long distance runner from Finland - September 2023:
Next to the track, there is a building with changing rooms and lockers for storing valuables. There is also toilets available in a separate building about 50-100m from the track. At a 50-100m distance from the track, you can also find a storage with hurdles, starting blocks, treadmills, some weights etc. If you need to get down to sea level for making some faster workouts, you can easily take the bus or car from St. Moritz to Chiavenna, Italy. Please make sure to contact the local sports club in Chiavenna to ensure that the track is open/opened for you before heading down to Chiavenna.
St. Moritz can offer an endless amount of running routes along the Engadin lakes (St. Moritz lake, Lake Sils, Lake Silvaplana), through forests, and along the various amounts of trails. Several routes and trails are well-marked with distance markers. If you look for flat, asphalt roads for interval training, you can e.g. take the bus or car to the Samedan Airport also known as Engadin Airport which is located in the Engadin valley, 5km from St. Moritz. If you are interested to run on an even higher altitude (2525m above sea level) with a magnificent view, you can take a cable car to Corviglia and run around Lej Alv (lake) which is flat, easy-to-run 1km loop. There are several options for gyms in St. Moritz and the most popular ones can be found from Eisarena Ludains (online reservation available) and Fitness-Center OVAVERA.
As an elite athlete, you can also apply for an "Elite card" from the St. Moritz tourism office (Sports office) which will give you several advantages as e.g. free access to cable cars and the Ovavera Swimming hall as well as a certain number of free training sessions at the Ovavera gym.
