ABOUT THE DESTINATION
Japan Athlete Training Center Osumi is located in Hishida, Osaki in the Kagoshima prefecture in southern Japan. The Training Center offers track athletes both indoor and outdoor facilities.
The outdoor athletics stadium has a 400m track with 8 lanes and a natural turf infield, and facilities/equipment to practice all running, jumping, and throwing disciplines. There is also a separate field dedicated to throwers.
The air-conditioned indoor stadium has a 5-lane 150m straight where sprints, long/triple jump, and pole vault can be practiced. The training center also offers athletes a fitness room/gym.
From the stadium's immediate surroundings, runners can find cross-country courses of 1k and 2k, and a variety of routes for road running.
